Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a Safety and Occupational Health professional to lead the nationwide OSH program within the Office of Human Resources Management. The role focuses on planning, directing, and improving safety programs, policies, and initiatives across CBP components.

The position starts at GS-13 with a salary range of 106,437 to 138,370, depending on locality. You will report to a designated duty location, with travel and reporting requirements as advertised.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate education in the major study of safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene).
• Experience in or related to safety and occupational health with knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
• Experience includes safety program elements, policy development, and hazard analysis.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct occupational safety and health program activities.
• Provide expert guidance on safety matters and investigations of hazardous conditions.
• Analyze safety data and incident trends to recommend corrective actions.
• Serve as the Federal Emergency Response Official (FERO) for safety and coordinate disaster planning.
