Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a Safety Measurement Research Program Manager to drive our strategy for safety measurement and evaluations.

You will work with safety research, data science, and engineering to advance how we measure harm and safeguard efficacy across research and production, shaping data, dashboards, tools, and workflows for cross-functional teams. You will collaborate with researchers, data scientists, policy owners, and product teams, prioritizing problems, defining programs, and

Qualifications

• Experience in AI safety, trust & safety, integrity, or related domains.
• Strong foundation in data science, statistics, economics, or related field.
• Ability to drive complex, cross-functional programs from problem definition through rollout, with alignment and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Define strategic priorities and roadmaps to improve safety measurement and evaluation approaches and scale the measurement platform.
• Partner with research, data science, engineering, policy, and product teams to craft a vision for safety outcomes and translate it into programs.
• Drive integration of AI safety research into safety measurement and evaluation platforms, navigating tradeoffs and blockers.
• Develop clear, actionable success criteria for safety measurement and evals.
• Represent quantitative progress on safety to senior leadership.
