Job summary

Reeves Young is seeking a construction safety professional to help plan and implement site safety programs, train employees on safety practices, and conduct audits across multiple sites. Candidates should have a health and safety degree, relevant certifications, and 3+ years in construction safety, with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist, plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, DOT and state rules.
• Plan and deliver training for site safety practices, including specialized trainings.
• Conduct unannounced safety audits and prepare reports with corrective actions.
• Perform post-accident investigations and report findings to management.

What Can You Expect

• Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations including OSHA and DOT as required.
• Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices, rain-day safety training and coordinates any specialized safety training and/or certifications for the employees.
• Performs unannounced/random safety audits and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
• Conducts post-accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety or related degree preferred
• Certification of CSP, ASP, GSP, or CHST desired
• 3 years experience in construction industry, project leadership and/or safety related experience; internship may qualify
• Travel will be required depending on jobsite locations.
• Must possess working knowledge of or demonstrate willingness to learn how to use the following software applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Bluebeam, MS Project, Safety Auduit Software and Viewpoint Field Work Center
• Receive all instructor level certifications for all safety training required by employees of the company.
• Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
