Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Construction Safety Manager for the night shift in Los Angeles, CA. This 1099 contractor role involves safety oversight for a major highway improvement project with 50-hour weekly shifts, 8:00 PM–6:00 AM, Monday–Friday, and potential weekend work.

The ideal candidate has CHST or higher BCSP certification, OSHA 30 Construction, 2+ years of heavy civil safety experience, and current First Aid/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for highway construction operations.
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor traffic control operations, roadway work, excavation activities, and heavy equipment operations.
• Review JHAs, AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture on the project.

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Duration: 6-8 Months (Start: Immediate Need)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $68/hr (Local), $63/hr (Non-Local)
Per Diem: $200/Day (7 Days Per Week)
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: 50 Hours Per Week | Monday-Friday | 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Night Shift)
Additional Schedule Details: Night shift highway construction project supporting work within an active metropolitan transportation corridor. Weekend work may be required as project demands dictate.
