Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Safety Specialist to support projects across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The role promotes a strong safety culture, ensures OSHA compliance, conducts site inspections, and partners with field leadership to maintain safe and productive job sites.

The ideal candidate has heavy civil construction experience (highways, bridges, underground utilities, earthwork) and will identify hazards, train employees, investigate incidents, and drive continuous safety improvements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience, preferably heavy civil.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Ability to travel across DFW sites.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits.
• Ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are followed.
• Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses; develop corrective actions.
• Assist teams with hazard assessments, JHAs, and site safety plans.
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance.
• Maintain safety records and documentation.
• Partner with project leaders to promote proactive safety culture.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety processes and reduce risk.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience, preferably within heavy civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety best practices.
• Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel and project leadership.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• CHST, SMS, CSP, or other safety certifications are a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between projects throughout the DFW area.
