Job summary

Olgoonik Corporation in the Cumberland County area is seeking a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist to help manage safety programs for contractor operations. You will perform surveillance, inspections, and enforce safety standards.

The role requires 3 years of relevant experience, certification readiness (STS), and OSHA training. You will develop safety plans, lead training, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe warehouse practices and incident prevention.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years related experience required.
• STS certificate from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or eligible to obtain within 6 months.
• OSHA 30-hour Safety Class or equivalent within the last 5 years.

• Performs safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections and safety enforcement.
• Develops and maintains the Project Safety Plan and Accident Prevention Plan.
• Conducts safety training and meetings as required and necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with the position.

Education and/or Experience:

• Possess 3 years’ experience as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist within the past five years.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum 3 years related experience required.
• Qualified/cognizant to anticipate, identify, evaluate, and implement corrective action through activity/worker hazard analysis, worker training, proactive oversight of operations to abate or reduce potential safety and health hazards and dangerous environmental exposures.
• Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
• Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Possession of a Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certificate from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or be able to obtain the STS within 6 months.
• 30 Hour OSHA Safety Class or equivalent within the last 5 years is required

Security Clearance:

• Position requires U.S. Citizenship, and to pass a US Government background check.
