Job summary

Highland Consulting Group is seeking a Safety Manager for a large Columbus, OH contractor. This permanent role focuses on protecting workers by developing comprehensive safety plans and ensuring on-site compliance.

You will train site staff, coordinate with clients, prepare daily management reports, and oversee safety across multiple projects. A four-year degree and 3+ years in safety with OSHA/CHST/CSP-type certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Three years minimum experience as a Safety Manager.
• Bachelor degree required in Safety or related field.
• Certifications such as OSHA 510, CHST, ASP, CSP or USACE EM385 preferred.
• Experience with major construction projects and on-site safety leadership.

Responsibilities

• Create / edit safety plans to fit project requirements.
• Be on-site to implement the safety plan.
• Train on-site staff in safe construction practices.
• Work with client to manage the safety program and expectations.
• Prepare daily reports for management and the client.
• Oversee all safety concerns for ongoing projects.

We have a current opportunity available for a talented Safety Manager for a large Contractor in the Columbus, OH area. This is a permanent position and not project based and gives you the opportunity to be part of a highly qualified group of safety experts. Additionally, all projects are local so virtual no travel is required. The ideal candidate will havelargeprojectexperience with a minimum of3 yearsexperience workingin a Safety capacity and havecertifications such as OSHA 510, CHST, ASP, CSP, or USACE EM385.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Create / Edit safety plans to fit therequirements of the project
• Be on-site to implement the safety plan
• Work with / train the on-site staff in safe construction practices
• Work directly with the client to manage the safety program and meet their expectations
• Prepare daily reports for management and the client
• Oversee all safety concerns for all ongoing projects

Job Requirements

• Board Certified Safety Professional - CHST Certification
• A four year degree is required - Safety degree is
• 3 Years minimum experience as a Safety Manager
• 1 years experience onmajor constructionprojects
• Candidates must have documented experience creating& editing detailed and organized information tracking systems
• Familiarity with all applicable regulations
• Someone with the ability to train staff and subcontractors is
• Solid communication skills - both written & verbal
• Ability to establish timelines
• Ability to multi-task Solid proven and verifiable record of career stability and experience as a Safety Manager success is a must
• Must be an idea person with a passion to improve the process
