Job summary

Highland Consulting Group is seeking a Safety Manager for a large contractor in the Richmond, VA area. This permanent role offers local, project-based work with no travel and a chance to join a team of safety experts.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years as a Safety Manager, holds OSHA 510, CHST, ASP, CSP, or USACE EM385 certifications, and a four-year degree (safety degree preferred). You will train staff, implement safety plans on-site, and report to clients.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience as a Safety Manager.
• OSHA 510, CHST, ASP, CSP or USACE EM385 certifications.
• A four year degree is required; safety degree is preferred.
• Experience on major construction projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to train staff.
• Familiarity with applicable regulations.
• Ability to establish timelines and multitask.
• Proven record of career stability in safety management.

Responsibilities

• Create / edit safety plans to fit project requirements.
• Be on-site to implement the safety plan.
• Train on-site staff in safe construction practices.
• Work directly with the client to manage the safety program and meet expectations.
• Prepare daily reports for management and the client.
• Oversee all safety concerns for ongoing projects.

We have a current opportunity available for a talented Safety Manager for a large Contractor in the Richmond, VA area. This is a permanent position and not project based and gives you the opportunity to be part of a highly qualified group of safety experts. Additionally, all projects are local so virtual no travel is required. The ideal candidate will havelargeprojectexperience with a minimum of3 yearsexperience workingin a Safety capacity and havecertifications such as OSHA 510, CHST, ASP, CSP, or USACE EM385.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Job Requirements

• Board Certified Safety Professional - CHST Certification

• Candidates must have documented experience creating& editing detailed and organized information tracking systems
• Familiarity with all applicable regulations
• Someone with the ability to train staff and subcontractors is preferred
• Solid communication skills - both written & verbal
• Ability to establish timelines
• Ability to multi-task Solid proven and verifiable record of career stability and experience as a Safety Manager success is a must
• Must be an idea person with a passion to improve the process
