Job summary

Highland Consulting Group, a national executive recruiting firm, has a permanent Safety Manager opportunity with a large contractor in the Columbus, OH area. This local role requires on-site presence with no travel.

You will develop and implement safety plans, train on-site staff, and work closely with clients to meet safety program expectations while producing daily management reports.

Qualifications

• Board Certified Safety Professional (CHST) certification is required.
• Four-year degree; safety degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of Safety Manager experience on major construction projects.
• Experience creating and editing detailed information tracking systems.
• Familiarity with applicable safety regulations.
• Ability to train staff and subcontractors.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish timelines and multi-task across projects.
• Proven career stability as a Safety Manager.
• Creative thinker focused on process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit safety plans to fit project requirements.
• Be on-site to implement the safety plan.
• Train on-site staff in safe construction practices.
• Collaborate with the client to manage the safety program and meet expectations.
• Prepare daily reports for management and the client.
• Oversee all safety concerns for ongoing projects.
