Job summary

EZARC is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program at an Arizona construction site. You will supervise the site safety team, engage with project leadership, and actively observe activities to identify hazards and enforce safe-work practices.

This role requires a minimum of 10 years in construction safety and a CHST certification. You will ensure OSHA compliance, coordinate investigations, and drive continuous safety improvements across the project team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage safety activities for the assigned Arizona construction site.
• Supervise, coach, and provide direction to Safety Coordinators and other assigned safety personnel.
• Maintain a strong field presence and regularly observe work activities for hazards and safe-work practices.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, and employees to identify and resolve safety concerns.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, EZARC safety policies, customer requirements, and site-specific safety programs.
• Review and support Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and other hazard-assessment processes.
• Monitor fall protection, PPE, scaffolding, ladders, aerial lifts, forklifts, rigging, material handling, welding, cutting, grinding, and other construction activities.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits and ensure identified deficiencies are corrected.
• Lead or participate in incident, injury, near-miss, and property-damage investigations.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate injury reporting, medical treatment, return-to-work activities, and required documentation with Human Resources and management.
• Conduct and coordinate safety orientations, toolbox talks, training, and other safety communications.
• Maintain required OSHA, customer, and Company safety documentation.
• Track safety observations, incidents, corrective actions, training, and other safety performance measures.
• Participate in project and customer safety meetings.
• Assist project leadership with planning high-risk or unusual work activities.
• Ensure subcontractors and temporary employees comply with applicable site safety requirements.
• Promote employee involvement in safety and encourage reporting of hazards, near misses, and improvement opportunities.
• Support Company safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and managing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) activities in Arizona and will be located at an assigned EZARC construction site. This position works closely with project leadership, field supervision, employees, subcontractors, and customer safety representatives to maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with EZARC requirements, customer requirements, and applicable safety regulations.

The Safety Manager provides day-to-day leadership to the site safety team and maintains a strong field presence, proactively identifying hazards, coaching employees and supervisors, and promoting EZARC's safety culture.

Required Qualifications

• Recognized safety certification such as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or equivalent recognized safety certification.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop safety personnel and effectively work with field supervision and employees.
• Experience working in an active construction environment.
• Ability to recognize hazards and develop practical corrective actions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel, steel erection, industrial construction, semiconductor construction, or similar high-hazard construction environments.
• Experience managing safety on large, complex construction projects.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Experience working under stringent customer-controlled safety programs.
• Experience supervising multiple safety professionals.

Physical and Work Requirements

• Position is based at an assigned EZARC construction site in Arizona.
• Must be able to regularly walk active construction areas and uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and access elevated work areas as required.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to work the schedule necessary to support project operations, including extended hours or weekends when required.
