Safety Manager/ADA Coordinator Titles II & IIIThis position serves as the Department Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Titles II and III of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Coordinator located within the Safety Section, under the Division of Administrative Services. Primary responsibilities will include conducting organizational studies and evaluations on office procedures providing technical assistance and developing procedures to assist the program to operate more efficiently and effectively.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication; time management best practices; and safety program techniques; Ability to: utilize problem solving techniques and apply critical thinking skills; establish and maintain effective working relationships; work independently; effectively assist and serve as a backup; plan, organize work assignments; assist across the chains of command; collect, organize, evaluate and analyze data; meet deadlines: manage programs and deliver results based on project goals; knowledge of health, safety and security matters in state government and understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; coordinate/facilitate necessary trainings for DEP staff.
Valid Driver License. Travel. At least three years of verifiable related work experience. Post-secondary degrees from an accredited university or college may be used as an alternative for the required three years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.
The incumbent of this position, in accordance with sections 110.1127 and 435.04, Florida Statutes and DEP Directive 422, Background Investigations, is required to successfully complete a background and fingerprint check.
This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
