Job summary

Hutch Paving Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and support our safety program across multiple construction job sites.

The role focuses on jobsite safety, incident investigations, employee training, and maintaining OSHA/MIOSHA compliance. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who can work closely with field crews, supervisors, and leadership to foster a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction safety preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA/MIOSHA regulations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented approach to incident investigations and documentation.
• Ability to travel to local jobsites as needed.
• OSHA certifications preferred (OSHA 30+)

Responsibilities

• Investigate jobsite incidents and determine root causes.
• Conduct random jobsite safety inspections and correct hazards.
• Maintain OSHA/MIOSHA safety compliance and documentation.
• Lead safety training, new hire orientation, and weekly toolbox talks.
• Track safety metrics, incidents, and training records.
• Manage PPE inventory and safety equipment inspections.
• Lead monthly safety committee meetings.
• Coordinate with insurance representatives and regulatory agencies when needed.
