Job summary

E. C. Korneffel Co. is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve the company-wide safety program in Trenton, Michigan. You will ensure MIOSHA/OSHA compliance and promote a strong safety culture across field teams and offices.

This role oversees jobsite inspections, audits, PPE and fall protection, site-specific emergency plans, safety documentation, training initiatives, and alignment with estimating and bidding processes. Travel between job sites is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction safety or related field.
• Strong knowledge of MIOSHA and OSHA.
• Company will support certification attainment (OSHA, HAZWOPER, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead safety program development and continuous improvement.
• Conduct jobsite inspections and audits.
• Partner with field teams to promote safe practices.
• Maintain safety documentation and SDS/MSDS.
• Oversee PPE and fall protection systems.
• Develop site-specific safety and emergency plans.
• Support estimating and bidding with safety requirements.
• Lead JSAs and toolbox talks.
• Identify and mitigate hazards.
• Track certifications and compliance.
• Coordinate safety training initiatives.

About the Role

The Safety Manager will lead and continuously improve the company-wide safety program, ensuring compliance with MIOSHA, OSHA, and applicable regulations while promoting a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead safety program development and continuous improvement
• Conduct jobsite inspections and audits
• Partner with field teams to promote safe practices

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Outdoor work in varying weather
• Walking and standing on uneven terrain
• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Occasional Saturdays
