Job summary

GLIDEN is seeking a Safety Manager to serve as the company’s safety representative on construction projects. You will enforce safety standards, ensure OSHA compliance, and lead safety programs with a focus on proactive risk management.

You will collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, and trades to develop site safety plans, conduct inspections, and drive a culture of accountability and continuous safety improvement across the DFW Metroplex.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator and/or Safety Manager.
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certified.
• OSHA 500 preferred, not required.
• Completion of a 4-year degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or Construction Science, or a related field, OR 6 years of cumulative Commercial Construction Experience, with 2 of those years as a Safety Coordinator.
• Experience in K-12, Higher Ed., and Medical projects is highly preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.

The Safety Manager is the Company’s representative assigned to the responsibility and authority for safety compliance on project sites. The Safety Manager leads our project’s safety initiatives with unyielding excellence. This person must enforce safety standards, maintain compliance with OSHA and company requirements, as well as partner closely with field and project personnel to promote a strong culture of safety and accountability throughout the company.

Primary Duties

• Champion a proactive safety culture focused on accountability, awareness, and safe work practices.
• Partner with project teams to develop site‑specific safety plans and address project risks.
• Stay current on OSHA requirements, construction safety best practices, and industry standards.
• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, observations, and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Participate in preconstruction, pre‑mobilization, and subcontractor meetings to identify risks and establish safety expectations.
• Review subcontractor safety plans and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Monitor high‑risk activities, including fall protection, excavation, crane operations, confined spaces, and energized work.
• Work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and trade partners to correct unsafe conditions and reinforce safety expectations.
• Lead investigations of incidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage.
• Maintain required safety records, reports, logs, and documentation.
• Track safety trends and performance metrics and implement procedures for improvement.
• Support regulatory inspections, owner safety reviews, and third‑party audits as needed.
• Travel required to project sites throughout the DFW Metroplex
