Job summary

Highland Consulting Group is seeking a Safety Manager for a large Richmond, VA area contractor. This permanent role centers on implementing on-site safety plans and fostering a strong safety culture across projects, with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and incident prevention.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of safety management experience, certifications such as CHST, OSHA 510, ASP, CSP or USACE EM385, and proven ability to train staff and coordinate with clients to meet safety objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Safety Manager on major construction projects.
• Board Certified Safety Professional - CHST certification.
• Four-year degree in safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit safety plans to fit project requirements.
• Be on-site to implement the safety plan.
• Train on-site staff in safe construction practices.
• Coordinate with clients to manage the safety program and meet expectations.
• Prepare daily management and client reports.
• Oversee all safety concerns across ongoing projects.

We have a current opportunity available for a talented Safety Manager for a large Contractor in the Richmond, VA area. This is a permanent position and not project based and gives you the opportunity to be part of a highly qualified group of safety experts. Additionally, all projects are local so virtual no travel is required. The ideal candidate will have large project experience with a minimum of 3 years experience working in a Safety capacity and have certifications such as OSHA 510, CHST, ASP, CSP, or USACE EM385.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Create / Edit safety plans to fit the requirements of the project
• Be on-site to implement the safety plan
• Work with / train the on-site staff in safe construction practices
• Work directly with the client to manage the safety program and meet their expectations
• Prepare daily reports for management and the client
• Oversee all safety concerns for all ongoing projects

Job Requirements

• Board Certified Safety Professional - CHST Certification
• A four year degree is required - Safety degree is preferred
• 3 Years minimum experience as a Safety Manager
• 1 years experience on major construction projects
• Candidates must have documented experience creating & editing detailed and organized information tracking systems
• Familiarity with all applicable regulations
• Someone with the ability to train staff and subcontractors is preferred
• Ability to establish timelines
• Ability to multi-task Solid proven and verifiable record of career stability and experience as a Safety Manager success is a must
• Must be an idea person with a passion to improve the process
