Job summary

VanCon, Inc. seeks a proactive Safety Manager to champion workplace safety and environmental compliance across construction sites. You will develop, implement, and oversee safety programs to promote a secure work environment and ensure adherence to OSHA standards and regulations.

The role requires strong analytical skills, report development, and effective communication with senior leadership to improve safety performance and reduce risk.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Manager to champion workplace safety and environmental compliance across our diverse construction sites. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety programs that promote a secure work environment for all employees. Your expertise will ensure adherence to OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices while fostering a culture of safety excellence.

Compensation
  • $85,000 - $125,000 annually
  • Depends on experience and certifications
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction or applicable industry with safety related responsibilities required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Must have a valid US Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to pass a motor vehicle records report check
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field preferred
  • CHST Certified preferred
  • OSHA 500 preferred
Job Requirements

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, MSHA and other federal, state and local environmental health and safety laws
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Monitor monthly safety meetings and training conducted at job site locations
  • Develop, collect and report performance metrics and regularly brief senior leadership regarding safety compliance
Risk, Claims & Return-to-Work Management - Lead all incident response, workers’ compensation management, and return-to-work programs to minimize company risk exposure and reduce total cost of claims.
  • First reports of injury (recordable & non-recordable)
  • Accident & third-party investigations
  • Workers’ comp doctor follow-ups (modified & non-modified duty)
  • Fraud investigation coordination
  • Timecard approval for modified duty
Safety Program Execution & Field Compliance - Own and enforce all safety processes, ensuring consistent implementation across all jobsites and alignment with regulatory requirements.

  • Initiate, coordinate and conduct meetings and training programs to ensure the effective communication of company expectation and safety standards.
Regulatory Compliance, Leadership & Accountability (LMA) - Ensure full regulatory compliance while leading the safety function through structured management, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • OSHA 300 / 300A logs compliance
  • Regulatory filings and documentation

  • MSHA oversight (if applicable)
  • Safety policy updates & recommendations
  • Disciplinary actions when required

(Aligned with Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance standards.)
