Job summary

Tofel Dent Construction is seeking a skilled and proactive Safety Manager to lead companywide health and safety programs across office and field operations. You will develop initiatives, support regulatory compliance, and protect employees and project teams.

You will collaborate with management, field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to identify hazards, conduct inspections, deliver training, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of safety experience on ground-up construction projects.
  • Experience managing safety across multiple projects (office and field).
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations for construction industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to leadership and work with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety programs, policies, procedures, and training to support a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations across project sites.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations; document findings and corrective actions.
  • Track safety metrics, maintain OSHA logs, analyze trends, and report safety performance to leadership.
  • Lead quarterly safety committee meetings and collaborate with management, field personnel, subcontractors, and consultants to reduce injuries.

Job description

Tofel Dent Construction is seeking a skilled and proactive Safety Manager to lead companywide health and safety programs and promote a strong safety culture across both office and field operations. This role is responsible for developing and implementing safety initiatives, supporting regulatory compliance, and helping protect employees, job sites, project teams, and company resources.

The Safety Manager will work closely with management, field personnel, project teams, subcontractors, and outside service providers to identify hazards, implement best practices, conduct inspections, deliver training, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement company safety programs, policies, procedures, and training to support a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, and local safety regulations across project sites.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track safety metrics, maintain OSHA logs, analyze trends, and report safety performance to leadership and project teams.
  • Partner with management, field personnel, subcontractors, and consultants to identify hazards and reduce workplace injuries.
  • Maintain project safety resources, including the Project Safety Manual, jobsite signage, safety equipment, and medical provider information.
  • Lead and facilitate the quarterly safety committee meeting

The qualified applicant will have at least 5 years of safety experience, including experience managing safety across multiple ground-up construction projects, and demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations specific to the construction industry, including holding an OSHA 30 certification, as well as experience with MS Office and Procore. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, with the ability to present meaningful safety information to leadership and work effectively with subcontractors, field superintendents, project managers, and executive leadership. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and available for early jobsite starts and after-hours incident response. Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) and ability to speak conversational Spanish is desired.
