Job summary

MaxSolar is seeking a Safety Manager to support field safety across nationwide project sites. This traveling role requires frequent travel (up to 50–75%), ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies while delivering training and inspections.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and able to build strong relationships with field personnel, supervisors, and subcontractors to foster a safe work environment during travel across the United States.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in construction, electrical, renewable energy, or industrial safety roles.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, incidents, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to project sites nationwide to support field safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct routine job site safety inspections, audits, and observations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee safety training sessions.
  • Provide field support and guidance to ensure adherence to OSHA standards and MaxSolar safety requirements.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, documenting findings and assisting with corrective action plans.
  • Monitor field personnel and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety expectations and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, and training records.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the company's safety manual, policies, and procedures.

Position Overview:

This is a traveling position requiring frequent travel (up to 50–75%) to project sites across the United States.

The Safety Manager is responsible for supporting and promoting MaxSolar's safety culture by ensuring compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices across multiple project sites. This individual will work closely with field operations, leadership, and technicians to provide hands-on safety support, conduct site inspections, deliver safety training, investigate incidents, and help drive continuous improvement in workplace safety.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in the field. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships with field personnel, and a commitment to fostering a safe work environment while traveling extensively to support operations nationwide.

  • Conduct routine job site safety inspections, audits, and observations to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee safety training sessions.

  • Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, documenting findings and assisting with corrective action plans.
  • Monitor field personnel and subcontractors to ensure compliance with all safety expectations and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, incident documentation, and training records.
  • Conduct new employee safety orientations and assist with onboarding from a safety perspective.
  • Support the development and implementation of company safety initiatives, programs, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the company's safety manual, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional safety committees and help track safety metrics, KPIs, and leading indicators.
  • Assist with maintaining safety prequalification programs and certifications, including ISNetworld (ISN) and Avetta.
  • Serve as a resource for field personnel by answering safety-related questions and providing practical solutions to workplace hazards.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in a construction, electrical, renewable energy, or industrial safety role, with field experience preferred.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and employee safety training.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety best practices.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500/510 or other professional safety certifications are preferred.
  • Experience supporting safety programs across multiple job sites is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with field employees, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable maintaining digital safety documentation and reports.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively (up to 50–75%) throughout the United States.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely navigate active construction and solar project sites.
