Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Construction Safety Manager for a 6-month, 1099 contract in Mobile, AL. The role will act as the GC's onsite safety representative, overseeing safety across trades on a new-build manufacturing facility project focused on structural steel erection.

Ideal candidates will have OSHA 30 Construction Certification and prior GC safety management experience, with pref­erence for steel construction or manufacturing site experience.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification required.
• Prior General Contractor safety management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the General Contractor's onsite safety representative.
• Provide daily field safety oversight across all active trades and subcontractors.
• Maintain a highly visible safety presence in active work areas.
• Monitor structural steel erection, elevated work, rigging, and material handling activities.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Review JHAs, pre-task plans, permits, and applicable safety documentation.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions with field leadership.
• Provide field coaching to reinforce safe work practices.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, superintendents, and subcontractors.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $58/hr
Per Diem: None
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 10-Hour Days
Additional Schedule Details: Saturdays as needed based on project schedule and construction demands.

Required Qualifications
