Position Description

The Safety Manager supports the senior safety manager and project team in successfully completing construction projects. This role involves managing safety and health processes on-site and is safety-sensitive.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree is preferred; Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.
• Minimum of 3 years safety experience on commercial construction projects recommended.
• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certification suggested.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Prolog, Primavera, AutoDesk Suite.
• Ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders, attend owner meetings, and collaborate with safety representatives.
• Participation in safety culture initiatives and safety committees.
• Assist with safety program development, implementation, and management, including safety start-up and budgeting.
• Oversee safety documentation and maintain project safety data.
• Conduct safety training, audits, and follow-up inspections.
• Lead development and implementation of the project's SAFE program and analyze safety trends.
• Personnel evaluation and development skills.
• Knowledge of construction processes and safety responsibilities.

Physical Demands

Moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, stooping, and climbing. Must be able to operate a vehicle, work in noisy and outdoor environments, and have visual acuity for reading and blueprint verification.
