Job summary

Diversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to support a data centre project in Northern VA. This role focuses on driving a safety culture, ensuring compliance, and proactively managing workplace health on a large-scale project.

Candidates should have 5+ years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30, and strong skills in hazard recognition, reporting, and on-site leadership. Per diem is available for travelers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 is required; OSHA 510 preferred.
• Experience with excavation & trenching, confined space, and fall protection.
• BCSP Certification is preferred but not required (STS-C, CHST).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA guidelines, regulations, and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Champion Safety Culture: prepare and enforce health and safety policies.
• Lead Safety Programs: design and implement safety programs, plans, and JHAs.
• Monitor & Report: track safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates.
• Identify & Solve Hazards: spot risks early, recommend solutions, and implement preventive measures.
• Drive Engagement: lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
• Stay Present & Involved: maintain on-site presence and participate in project meetings.
• Ensure Compliance: verify work follows manuals and contract requirements.
• Maintain Documentation: keep logs of inspections and safety correspondence.
• Oversee Site Activity: supervise subcontractors to meet EHS requirements.
• Investigate & Improve: conduct investigations for accidents and follow through on actions.
• Enforce Standards: ensure proper PPE use and safety procedures.

Diversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to join our team and support a data centre project in Northern VA. This role offers the opportunity to play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, ensuring compliance, and fostering a proactive approach to workplace health and safety on a large-scale, high-visibility project.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion Safety Culture: Prepare and enforce health and safety policies that build a safe, proactive jobsite environment.
• Lead Safety Programs: Design and implement safety programs, plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Monitor & Report: Track safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates
• Identify & Solve Hazards: Spot risks early, recommend solutions, and ensure preventive measures are put in place.
• Drive Engagement: Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to keep teams engaged and aligned.
• Stay Present & Involved: Maintain regular on-site presence, participate in project meetings, and provide proactive safety guidance.
• Ensure Compliance: Verify that all work follows approved manuals, internal procedures, and contract requirements.
• Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate logs of inspections, reports, and safety correspondence.
• Oversee Site Activity: Supervise subcontractors and contractors to ensure work meets EHS requirements.
• Investigate & Improve: Conduct investigations for accidents, incidents, and near misses; follow through on corrective actions.
• Enforce Standards: Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures at all times.
• Support the Project: Contribute to additional safety initiatives and requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 required, OSHA 510 preferred
• Experience with excavation & trenching, confined space, and fall protection required
• BCSP Certification is preferred but not required (STS-C, CHST)
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, regulations, and safety programs.
• Ability to produce clear reports, develop procedures, and implement effective safety solutions.
• Excellent hazard recognition, data analysis, and risk assessment skills.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Professional presence on‑site and ability to lead teams through incidents or emergencies with composure.
