About Frontline Wildfire Defense

Founded in 2017 by landscape ecologist and fire mitigation expert Harry Statter, Frontline developed the first fully integrated wildfire defense system to stop the leading cause of home loss in wildfires: ember-driven ignition. The system combines exterior sprinklers, full-coverage design, and connected software for remote monitoring and response, allowing homes to protect themselves long after families evacuate or infrastructure fails.

Proven effective during the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, 96% of homes with Frontline systems survived. That success has earned top industry recognition, including Frontline being recognized as one of TIME’s Best Inventions 2025 in the Green Tech category and receiving the PCBC Gold Nugget Award for “Most Innovative Housing Concept” and the Best of IBS Award for “Best Home Technology.”

As wildfires grow hotter and more frequent, our vision is to give people the tools and strategies to live safely with fire. We’re building a mission-driven team creating real-world solutions in wildfire safety and climate tech.

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced, builder-minded Safety Manager to design, implement, and scale a best-in-class, multi-state safety program that supports Frontline’s rapidly expanding field operations. This role will own the development of a dynamic and adaptable safety framework that can be consistently applied across diverse geographies, regulatory environments, and operational contexts.

Working closely with the General Counsel, Operations, Field Leadership, and regional stakeholders, this person will act as a key strategic partner—building, standardizing, and continuously improving safety programs that align with both regulatory requirements and real-world field execution. This includes owning contractor safety alignment, driving consistency across regions, overseeing and implementing Frontline's company-wide safety plan, fostering adoption across the organization, and ensuring Frontline maintains a proactive, scalable, and high-performance safety culture.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a builder role—someone who can create structure where it doesn’t yet exist, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and elevate safety into a core operational pillar as we scale nationally.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Program Development

  • Design and build a scalable, multi-state safety program from the ground up, including policies, procedures, and frameworks that can flex across different geographies and regulatory environments.
  • Own and continuously evolve safety standards to ensure alignment with changing regulations, operational complexity, and company growth across multiple regions.
  • Establish and lead a company-wide safety culture by implementing consistent training programs, toolbox talks, and communication strategies across all field teams and geographies.
  • Develop and maintain standardized safety training curriculum, courses, and instructional materials, delivering engaging in-house training programs that support regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and a strong safety culture.
  • Implement a structured audit and inspection program across regions to proactively identify risks and ensure consistent execution of safety standards.
  • Define and track key safety KPIs (TRIR, incident rates, near-miss reporting, etc.) and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Lead incident investigations with a focus on root cause analysis and systemic improvements, ensuring learnings are scaled across all operating regions and incorporated into ongoing training, policies, and safety initiatives.

Contractor & Partner Alignment

  • Partner with Legal to ensure all subcontractor agreements reflect Frontline’s safety standards, risk posture, and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and enforce standardized safety expectations across all subcontractors and partners, ensuring alignment regardless of geography.
  • Act as the central authority on contractor safety practices, ensuring consistency between partner capabilities and Frontline standards.
  • Build and manage a scalable system for tracking contractor qualifications, certifications, and compliance documentation.

Regulatory & Market Compliance

  • Lead safety and compliance readiness for new market expansion, ensuring Frontline can operate safely and compliantly across jurisdictions.
  • Build and maintain a centralized compliance framework that tracks requirements across all operating territories.
  • Serve as the company-wide subject matter expert on safety and compliance across multiple geographies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all regulatory filings, documentation, and reporting requirements across jurisdictions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a key cross-functional leader, partnering with Operations, Field Leadership, Legal, and executive stakeholders to embed safety into all aspects of the business.
  • Translate safety data and field insights into strategic recommendations that influence operational decisions and risk management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to scale safety processes efficiently while maintaining high standards across all regions.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Build and develop the safety team – Hire, mentor, and scale a high-performing safety organization to support multi-region operations while fostering accountability and a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Establish structure and best practices – Drive standardization, accountability, and process rigor to professionalize the safety function across the organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to scale safety processes efficiently while maintaining high standards across all regions.
Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 5–8+ years of experience in safety management within construction, solar, HVAC, electrical installation, roofing, gutter installation, pest control, or other field-based, high-risk environments requiring routine rooftop work and fall protection.
  • Experience supporting field-based organizations where employees routinely perform rooftop work, including construction, solar, HVAC, electrical installation, gutter installation, pest control, roofing, or other comparable industries requiring daily fall protection and roof tie-off practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and building teams, with a track record of scaling and professionalizing safety or operational functions while successfully implementing company-wide safety programs and driving organizational adoption.
  • Certified OSHA Outreach Trainer (OSHA 500 or equivalent) with the certifications required to develop and deliver in-house OSHA and Cal/OSHA training programs
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to operate cross-functionally and influence teams across multiple geographies and levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite; experience with safety management systems (SMS), compliance tracking tools, and building scalable reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementing preventative safety programs at scale. Proven experience building or significantly improving safety programs in a growing or multi-location environment

Nice-to-Have

  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, CHST, or equivalent
  • Experience designing contractor onboarding and safety qualification programs at scale.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Business, or related field
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive Base Salary: $105,000 to $150,000
  • Company-provided cell phone and laptop
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
