Job summary

Exceed Safety, a Greensboro-based field safety consultancy, seeks a Safety Manager to lead EHS programs for five branches across NC, SC, and VA. You will conduct site visits, coach field staff, and ensure OSHA/PSG compliance on projects.

The role reports to the Safety Director and requires a BA in a safety field (or 7 years' experience) plus FA/CPR/AED, OSHA 30, and CHST or equivalent certification. Travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety field or 7 years' experience as a Safety Professional with CHST
• OSHA 30 hour for construction required
• FA/CPR/AED certified
• Valid Driver's License with MVR check
• Criminal background check (state and federal)
• Drug test (10-panel)
• E-Verify

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections and safety audits
• Ensure safety adherence, performance, and compliance on projects
• Review project site forms and data
• Assist in JHA and safety observations
• Ensure subcontractors follow OSHA and PSG policies
• Monitor critical safety tasks and outcomes
• Collaborate with Contractors on safety best practices
• Represent PSG in site health and safety matters
• Follow up on incidents and near misses, conduct investigations
• Provide safety orientation and training (Forklift, Scissor lifts, Fall protection, CPR)

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Safety Manager to manage the EHS program at the field level for 5 branches in the NC, SC and VA area. This would include documented site visits, training and coaching of the field staff.

The candidate:

• Must possess exemplary communication skills - both oral and written

• Team player that can work with the leadership team, all personnel, and interact well with clients
• Must not only be able to recognize hazards but be able to find and implement solutions.

The role reports to the Safety Director.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a safety related field or this may be substituted for 7 years' experience as a full time Safety Professionaland a certification such as the CHST.
• Experience within the Construction Industry is a must.
• Must be FA/CPR/AED certified.
• Must have at least an OSHA 30 hour for construction.
• Valid Driver's License and MVR check.
• Criminal Justice Background Check (state and federal)
• Drug Test (10-panel)
• E-Verify
• Ideally the candidate would live in the Greensboro NC area.

Additional qualifications a plus:

• Experience within General Industry is a plus.
• Having an OSHA 500 is a plus. Authorized Osha instructor for Construction.
• HVAC experience is a plus.
• CPR instructor is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Physical Demands:

• Regularly uses hands and fingers to operate objects, tools or controls. Frequently required to stand, talk and hear for long periods of time. Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to move intermittently throughout the day with walking, standing, bending, and reaching.
• This position may require employee to sit at a computer station/desk for prolonged periods of time up to 8 hours a day.
• The employee is regularly required to read, count and write to accurately complete documentation required for position.
• Driving/travel will be required for this position.
