We are seeking a Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager is responsible for executing the company's safety program, ensuring all operations, procedures, and practices align with the highest safety standards. This role works closely with the Safety Director, project leadership, and field teams to promote a secure and healthy work environment.
Plans, implements, and manages comprehensive safety programs and initiatives across all departments.
Leads a team of safety professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure effective execution of safety protocols.
Collaborates with various departments to ensure consistent adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
Conducts regular safety inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards and recommending preventive measures.
Investigates and analyzes incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards.
Works closely with project leadership to develop emergency action plans and act as the primary point of contact for injury and incident management.
Participates in safety meetings and committees, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
Stays up to date with industry best practices and evolving safety trends, implementing improvements as needed.
Maintains accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, training, and compliance documentation.
Develops and delivers safety training programs to employees at all levels.
Promotes a culture of safety through proactive engagement, communication, and enforcement of policies.
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a closely related field.
Five (5) years of experience in construction safety, with at least three (3) years in a leadership role.
Preferred:
Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, OHST, STS-C, OSHA 500).
Experience with safety management software and reporting tools.
OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on one-for-one year basis or vice versa.
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards and federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Knowledge of workplace safety practices, risk assessment, and hazard identification.
Knowledge of incident investigation techniques and corrective action planning.
Skill in leading and mentoring safety teams to drive a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
Skill in conducting safety audits, inspections, and training programs.
Skill in analyzing workplace hazards and developing proactive safety solutions.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety compliance across all job sites.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate safety procedures and expectations effectively to employees at all levels.
Ability to document and maintain accurate records of safety-related activities.
Medium work environment. Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to uncomfortable and hazardous physical, ergonomic, and/or emotional environment. Work requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing protective equipment; exposure to environmental conditions, weather, climbing, crawling, lying, and working under pressure.
