Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Safety Manager to support the Division Safety Manager and site safety coordinators at a data center in Southern Virginia. The role is field-based and on-site to coordinate all division safety activities.

You will lead inspections, enforce OSHA regulations, document findings, and develop loss-control strategies while mentoring junior safety staff and ensuring timely corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working as a safety manager in a construction environment.
  • OSHA 10hr and OSHA 30hr certifications.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Ability to pass a BC & DT (background check and drug test).
  • Excellent knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards and state construction safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Tours and inspects small, mid-size or large, complex job sites to ensure compliance with company, state and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Reports concerns to safety management. Ensures enforcement of OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures.
  • Provides recommendations for correcting non-compliance issues. Ensures cited issues are corrected within designated timeframe.
  • Maintains all site required documentation related to safety issues, including accident reports, inspection reports and training logs.
  • Develops current and future loss control strategies and implements corrective actions to prevent similar incidents. Provides emergency response to employees as needed.
  • Participates in and documents information for the investigation of accidents and injuries and submits data to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Contributes to updating training materials and manages employee training as necessary.
  • Acting as a lead, guides less-experience safety roles as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


  • 5+ years of experience working as a safety manager in a construction environment

  • OSHA 10hr and OSHA 30hr

  • CPR and First Aid Certifications

  • Must be able to successfully pass a BC & DT

  • Excellent working knowledge of health and safety management systems; OSHA CFR 1926 standards or the state construction safety regulations


NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences is required OR Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Certification

  • CHST or other related safety certifications
