Job description

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Safety Manager to lead and enhance safety initiatives across a growing multi-site operation in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This newly created position reflects the company's continued expansion and commitment to building a strong safety culture as it grows from four operating facilities to an additional site.

The Safety Manager will serve as the primary resource for all safety-related matters, with a strong emphasis on fleet and transportation safety, workers' compensation management, auto liability claims, OSHA compliance, training, inspections, and continuous improvement of safety programs. This individual will work closely with operations leadership, drivers, plant personnel, and insurance partners to reduce risk, improve compliance, and foster a proactive safety culture.

This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys being visible in the field, building relationships, and driving meaningful improvements rather than simply maintaining existing programs.

Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Transportation Safety
  • Lead safety initiatives for a fleet of commercial vehicles operating throughout the DFW market.
  • Monitor fleet safety performance and identify opportunities to reduce incidents, accidents, and liability exposure.
  • Investigate vehicle accidents and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with operations and transportation teams to promote safe driving practices and accountability.
  • Maintain programs that support compliance with applicable transportation and safety regulations.
Workers' Compensation & Auto Liability Management
  • Manage workers' compensation and auto liability claims from initial incident through claim resolution.
  • Coordinate investigations, documentation, and communication with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor claim trends and identify opportunities to reduce incidents and claim costs.
  • Collaborate with management to support return-to-work programs and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting related to claims activity and outcomes.
Safety Compliance & Program Administration
  • Administer company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Maintain safety equipment, PPE programs, eyewash stations, signage, and related compliance requirements.
  • Support daily operational inspections and coordinate quarterly safety reviews at all locations.
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation to support regulatory compliance and audits.
Training & Employee Engagement
  • Facilitate new hire safety orientations and onboarding programs.
  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and ongoing education initiatives for drivers, plant personnel, and operational teams.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by building strong relationships throughout the organization.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors on safety-related matters.
  • Develop engaging training materials and awareness campaigns that encourage safe work practices.
  • Evaluate existing safety programs and implement enhancements that improve effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Analyze safety metrics, incident trends, and audit findings to identify areas for improvement.
  • Partner with leadership to establish and achieve safety goals and key performance indicators.
  • Support organizational growth by scaling safety processes across multiple facilities.
Qualifications
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in safety, risk management, EHS, or occupational health and safety roles.
  • Experience managing workers' compensation claims, incident investigations, or auto liability claims.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the DFW area.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in construction, transportation, manufacturing, industrial operations, logistics, building materials, or similar environments.
  • Professional safety certifications such as OSHA, ASP, CSP, CHST, or related credentials.
  • Experience supporting fleet safety programs and commercial vehicle operations.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation and insurance claim administration processes.

This is an opportunity to make a significant impact by shaping the future of safety for a growing operation while serving as a trusted partner to leadership, drivers, and plant teams.
