Job summary

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to DFW-area jobsites.

SCOPE OF WORK

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager owns and leads our safety department. This is a leadership role responsible for managing our safety inspectors, driving measurable improvement in our safety and insurance performance, championing our highest-hazard electrical work, and building the programs, systems, and culture that keep every employee safe and support the company’s growth. The right person is both a strong field-safety expert and a capable leader of people who can set direction, hold a standard, and develop a team.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Lead the department and the team

  • Manage, mentor, and develop the safety inspectors; set their priorities, schedules, and standards across multiple active jobsites.
  • Establish a consistent operating rhythm — inspections, reporting, and accountability — and build the department’s capacity as the company grows.

Drive safety performance

  • Own and improve the company’s safety and insurance metrics (EMR, TRIR, DART) and a set of proactive leading indicators; report performance and direction to senior leadership.
  • Track injuries and losses, analyze trends and root causes, and build targeted prevention plans that measurably reduce incidents.

Champion high-hazard electrical safety

  • Lead energized-work / lockout-tagout (LOTO) programs and NFPA 70E (arc-flash) compliance, including permitting, training, and field auditing.
  • Ensure safe work practices for electrical construction, apprentices, and all high-risk tasks (fall protection, confined space, and similar).

Build training, culture, and compliance

  • Deliver and oversee toolbox talks, new-apprentice safety onboarding, and ongoing training; maintain OSHA recordkeeping (300/300A) and required programs, audit-ready.
  • Build a strong safety culture through field presence, coaching, and partnership with superintendents and field leaders.

Plan for growth

  • Develop resourced plans — people, tools, training, budget — and make the case for the investments needed to sustain and scale safety performance.
Position Requirements
  • 7+ years of construction safety/EHS experience, including direct leadership of a safety team (managing safety professionals or inspectors).
  • Demonstrated, quantifiable results reducing injury rates (e.g., TRIR/DART) and improving safety performance.
  • Deep working knowledge of OSHA construction standards, lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E / energized electrical work, fall protection, and confined space.
  • Working knowledge of workers’-compensation and experience-modification-rate (EMR) mechanics, including claims and return-to-work management.
  • OSHA 510 (Construction) required; strong leadership, communication, and field-presence skills; valid driver’s license and ability to travel to jobsites across the DFW area.
  • Qualified CPR / First Aid instructor license preferred.
  • Qualified OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 trainer certification preferred.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Must have own reliable transportation.
  • Must be flexible to come in early or stay late per customer or project demands.
  • Must be capable to use business software, computers and other office machines.
  • Must be able to work effectively with superintendents, foreman and other field personnel.
  • Be able to work in a “Team” environment.
  • Have the ability to work with contract documents and with applicable vendors.
  • Have the ability to monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Have the ability to effectively present information to clients, vendors and other employees.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of construction safety/EHS experience, including direct leadership of a safety team (managing safety professionals or inspectors).

Physical Requirements
  • Personal weight and tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladders. (Class 1 – 250 lbs / Class 2 – 300lbs)
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Constantly move about on feet.
  • Climb ladders and scaffolds of all types and heights
Complete Full Day Assignments
  • Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work area and access all levels of the building using OSHA approved site ladders or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use.
  • Possess good vision, normal or corrected.
  • Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
  • Must be able to positively identify different colors.
Working Conditions
  • May work inside or outside while wearing PPE at all times. Possible exposure to hot / cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, in restricted or confined spaces, on slippery or uneven surfaces, work on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations, work in and around single and multi-story buildings and with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.
