Job summary

Performance Foodservice in New Jersey seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety professional to develop and implement safety programs, ensure legal compliance, and manage security and disaster preparedness.

You will lead training, reduce OSHA incidents, build cross-functional relationships, and continuously improve safety policies. A bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years’ experience, with supervisory exposure, are required. Excellent benefits accompany a 30% bonus opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • 5–7 years related experience.
  • 6 months to 1 year supervisory or management experience.

Position Purpose

Responsible for developing, implementing and/or administering environmental, fleet safety and occupational health and safety programs to ensure applicable legal compliance and create and maintain a safe and secure working environment. Also responsible for facility security and disaster preparedness planning and effective management of claims (e.g., property and casualty – workers' compensation, auto liability and physical damage, and products/general liability). Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
  • Deliver safety programs within budgetary guidelines. Conduct safety training, as necessary.
  • Decrease \"lost days from work\" and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) recordable incidents.
  • Demonstrate awareness of customer needs and perform job duties to effectively meet those needs.
  • Develop interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally.
  • Provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers/vendors and coworkers.
  • Improve safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor safety programs and implement changes necessary to ensure the health and safety of our associates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field
  • 5 - 7 years related experience and
  • 6 months - 1 year supervisory or management experience
Compensation

$74,900 - $107,000; bonus opportunity 30% of base salary
