Job summary

Elsdon Group in El Paso, TX, seeks a seasoned Construction Safety Manager to oversee site safety programs, ensure OSHA compliance, and lead risk assessments across projects.

You will conduct training, incident investigations, and inspections, work with project managers and crews, and promote a proactive safety culture through continuous improvement.

Required bachelor’s degree in safety or related field, OSHA 500/510, 5 years of field safety experience, and First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction safety role.
• OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications required.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Experience working within heavy civil, utility, infrastructure, or construction environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, implementation, and management of site safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and develop preventative measures.
• Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to integrate safety requirements into daily operations and project planning.
• Deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and new hire orientations.
• Conduct OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training for applicable employees.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with site safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records relating to safety inspections, incidents, corrective actions, and training activities.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
