Lake County Department of Utilities seeks a Safety Manager to coordinate and oversee the department's health and safety standards. You will liaison between staff and management, maintain records, and lead training and investigations to promote a safe working environment.
Responsibilities include implementing safety programs, conducting audits, preparing periodic safety reports, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and related regulations.

Candidates for this position should have prior experience complying with Public Employee Risk Reduction Program (PERRP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other regulatory bodies and standards, conducting site audits to ensure safety of personnel, equipment and materials, evaluating, assessing and maintaining safety procedures, manuals and policies, analyzing accident reports and potential injuries, coordinating or conducting safety training sessions, logging and tracking incident metrics and trends, working with departmental staff to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illness, death or financial loss, responding to emergency situations, and performing other duties as assigned. A candidate in this classification must exercise independent judgment, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, exhibit sound decision-making when faced with complex or unique situations, utilize discretion and confidentiality, consistently deliver general customer service in a professional fashion, and display strong skills in verbal and written communication, organizational abilities, time management and analytical thinking.

Pay: $28.48 - $37.00 per hour
