Job summary

JW Nutritional is seeking a Safety Manager at our Allen, TX Corporate Office. The role leads safety inspections, audits, and training to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations across manufacturing facilities.

You will analyze incident data, prepare reports, and drive policy improvements while coordinating with leadership to maintain a safe work environment. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's in Health and Safety or related field, OSHA certification, and 3+ years in

  • In depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
  • Reviews accidents and incidents reported by employees and visitors to the facility.
  • Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
  • Maintain accurate and current records in accordance with guidelines.
  • Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
  • Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
  • Inspects safety equipment; makes recommendations for enhancements, fixes or replacements.
  • Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
  • Provides technical and administrative support to the safety committee.
  • Monitor the removal of biological, physical or chemical hazards from the workplace.
  • Stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
  • Provide safety training for employees on policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Advise the company's administrative team on safety issues and compliance on specific projects and operations.
  • Supports and adheres to company policies, procedures, and work-rules and ensure that department employees comply with policies, standards, and work-rules.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) beneficial
  • Ability to comply, interpret and support Company policies, procedures, work rules, and protocols.
  • Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes and new job duties/responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and work overtime on short notice
  • Ability to represent the Company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field required.

Health and safety certification required.

In depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards and requirements.

Three plus years of occupational health and safety experience in manufacturing environment required.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel throughout all JW facilities to conduct safety inspections.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, as needed.
