Job summary

Piedmont Metals in Graham, NC seeks an experienced Safety Coordinator to lead and oversee safety programs, regulatory compliance, and training across our operations. You will develop policies, conduct audits, and drive a strong safety culture at all locations.

The ideal candidate has OSHA knowledge, risk assessment experience, and the ability to travel between Burlington and Graham as needed. This is a hands-on role reporting to the HR Manager and Safety Manager.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in safety management.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct training sessions and communicate safety policies.
• Experience with incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety audits.
• Travel regularly between Burlington and Graham.
• Certifications in safety management are preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to develop structured safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee the company-wide safety program.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Establish and enforce safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement preventive measures.
• Organize and conduct safety training programs and toolbox talks for employees.
• Collaborate with HR and Safety Manager on safety-related matters.
• Develop and maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
• Work with site managers, supervisors, and employees to foster a strong safety culture.
• Oversee PPE programs and ensure proper use and availability.
• Implement strategies to reduce workplace injuries and improve safety performance.
