Job summary

Perdue Foods in Rockingham, North Carolina invites you to join as a Safety Intern for a 10–12 week program, gaining hands-on exposure to safety practices, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in a food production environment. You will support the Safety Team across plant operations.

This internship offers competitive pay, a dedicated mentor, learning workshops, and a housing stipend, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong analytical, communication and time management skills are required.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across departments.
• Support incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Help develop and deliver safety training materials for associates.
• Participate in ergonomic assessments and hazard identification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
• Present findings and recommendations to site leadership at internship end.
