Job summary

Responsibilities

• Inspects machines and equipment for accident prevention devices.
• Observes workers to ensure use of safety gear and rules compliance.
• Inspects areas for fire-prevention equipment and first-aid supplies.
• Becomes a Shipyard Competent Person (SCP).
• Assists with incident investigations to determine causes and prevention.
• Conducts safety orientations for new hires on rules and procedures.
• Assists with safety meetings and trainings; maintains records.
• Learns and becomes familiar with the facility safety program.
