Job summary

Hawkins, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to serve as a technical resource for identifying, evaluating, and controlling occupational health and safety risks across our chemical manufacturing and distribution teams.

In this role you will coordinate site level safety programs, employee training, and participate in safety committees, applying risk assessment methodologies and the Hierarchy of Controls to prevent incidents and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a safety or regulatory role required.
• Process Safety Management experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 511 coursework preferred.
• HAZWOPER and Incident Commander experience required.
• ISO Certification knowledge preferred (9001, 14001, 45001).
• Training development and delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor leaders and employees to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective actions with root-cause analysis.
• Update safety policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Manage Safety Training program including content, delivery and reporting.
• Lead hazard reviews and risk assessments for tasks and changes.
• Conduct safety assessments and audits at plants and communicate findings.
