Job summary

idX Corporation is seeking a Safety & HR Specialist to blend HR administration with hands-on safety leadership. You will support compliance with employment laws, manage employee records, and promote a culture of safety across manufacturing and office environments.

Responsibilities include leading safety initiatives, conducting inspections, and delivering training while coordinating with leadership, medical providers, and claims administrators.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in safety, manufacturing, industrial, or woodworking environments.
  • 5+ years in Human Resources administration and payroll support.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Position Summary

The Safety & HR Specialist serves as a key partner to facility leadership and corporate teams, helping foster a culture centered on employee engagement, compliance, workplace safety, and continuous improvement. This role combines hands‑on safety leadership with HR administration, creating an opportunity to positively influence both employee well‑being and organizational performance.

What You’ll Do
Human Resources
  • Maintain employee records and ensure HR files remain accurate, confidential, and compliant.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Partner with leadership to promote employee engagement and a positive workplace culture.
  • Assist with various HR programs, initiatives, and employee relations matters.
  • Support return‑to‑work processes and restricted‑duty assignments when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Lead facility safety initiatives and champion a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and PPE requirements.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and enhance safety programs and training initiatives.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations and ongoing employee safety training.
  • Manage first aid, CPR coverage, PPE programs, and safety supply inventories.
  • Coordinate OSHA, fire, and other regulatory inspections and compliance activities.
  • Administer hearing conservation and other occupational health programs.
  • Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and employee involvement initiatives.
  • Conduct and certify forklift operator training.
  • Partner with management, medical providers, and claims administrators on injury management and workers' compensation matters.
  • Prepare and analyze safety metrics, reports, and compliance documentation.

Additional Responsibilities: Drive continuous improvement efforts related to safety, compliance, and employee experience. Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in safety, manufacturing, industrial, or woodworking environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources administration and payroll support.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust, credibility, and positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to regularly move throughout a manufacturing and office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Safety, Business, or a related field.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Experience with ERP systems and business management software.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations.
