Job summary

The role involves investigations, training, inspections, and coordination of safety initiatives across the facility. The position requires knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and strong leadership in a healthcare environment;

Qualifications

• Experience managing safety or occupational health elements in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to develop and recommend safety and health policy to management.
• Apply safety and health standards to advise on hazards and controls.
• Experience with training programs for safety/health personnel.
• Familiarity with PMI work on facility safety and fire protection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Directs investigation and review of accidents and recommends corrective actions.
• Prepares written reports and presents recommendations.
• Directs and implements a comprehensive OSH training program for staff.
• Oversees PMI work on safety and fire protection systems.
• Acts as contracting officer's representative (COR) for contracts.
• Inspects workplaces and outside facilities for compliance and hazards.
• May supervise telework arrangements; monitors compliance with VA OSH standards.
