Alter Trading is seeking an Inspector for full-time production in Des Moines, IA. The role focuses on inspecting inbound materials, grading, and coordinating with crane operators to maintain efficient yard traffic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in metals or industrial operations advantageous.
• Strong communication and team-oriented attitude required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound loads for compliance and accurate grading.
• Deliver courteous and professional experience to all drivers and customers.
• Accurately document inspection results.
• Collaborate with crane and loader operators to ensure efficient traffic flow.
• Conduct inspections for non-conforming items (e.g., mercury switches, ballasts).
• Troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and monitor performance metrics.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned.
