Job summary

North Lawrence Community Schools is seeking dependable School Bus Drivers to transport students on daily routes and extracurricular trips. Drivers ensure safety, on-time transport, and courteous service while maintaining clean, roadworthy buses.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, coordinating with coaches, recording trip data, and ensuring punctual attendance. CDL Class B with endorsements and a Yellow Card are required, with background checks and New Hire Checklist completion.

Qualifications

• Must possess a CDL Class B with no air brake restriction, including a Public (Passenger) Endorsement and a School Bus Endorsement.
• Must possess a Yellow Card, or be willing to earn a Yellow Card within one year.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must complete the New Hire Checklist.

Responsibilities

• Pre-trip inspections before each route and post-trip inspections after each route.
• Drive specified routes safely and on time following the route sheet.
• Transport students to extracurricular trips and coordinate with coaches as needed.
• Maintain bus cleanliness, roadworthiness, and report route changes as required.
• Record mileage, hours, and trip documentation for activity trips.
