Job summary

Pratt is seeking a Safety Manager to develop and oversee safety policies across a manufacturing plant. You will lead training, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with government regulations while fostering a culture of safety.

The role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and hands-on experience with safety programs and incident response. This is a full-time, exempt position with the potential for flexible after-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 year college degree, 4 year degree in a Safety/Environmental or related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in safety management within a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Safety Program Management: Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide safety programs. Lead safety inspections, meetings, and training sessions.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Training & Orientation: Conduct safety training for new hires and ensure ongoing training for all employees. Lead specialized programs such as Hearing Conservation, Haz-Com, LOTO, Blood Borne Pantheons, Forklift Safety, Safety footwear, and First Responder Training.
• Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices, emergency preparedness, and compliance requirements
• Incident Management: Report and investigate safety incidents. Involve appropriate personnel and maintain thorough documentation.
