Job summary

GROB Group is seeking a Safety Engineer Intern to assist the Safety Professional in identifying and improving safety processes within our manufacturing environment, aiming to provide the safest work environment for all employees. You will support safety training, site inspections, incident investigations, PPE assessments, and safety meetings, while leveraging MS Office and Acrobat.

Enrolled in Environmental Health and Safety, with knowledge of OSHA principles and a proactive mindset, this role

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a relevant degree program, preferably in environmental health and safety discipline.
• Knowledge of basic OSHA principles.
• Must be self-motivated and able to problem solve complex situations while utilizing available resources.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Assist GROB’s Safety Professional with safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for all employees.
• Assist management in inspecting worksites to assure safe conditions; prepare recommendations to reduce hazards.
• Complete timely and thorough incident investigations with documentation and preventive measures.
• Conduct job safety and PPE assessments; recommend PPE purchases as necessary.
• Participate in and/or lead safety meetings
• Additional tasks as required.

Assist GROB’s Safety Professional with the following:

• Provide appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for all employees
• Assist management in the inspection of worksites to assure safe conditions for employees; prepare recommendations to management on ways to reduce and/or eliminate identified hazards
• Complete timely and thorough incident investigations with appropriate documentation and develop measures to prevent further occurrences
• Conduct job safety and PPE assessments; recommend PPE purchases as necessary
• Participate in and/or lead safety meetings
• Additional tasks as required

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Enrolled in a relevant degree program, preferably in environmental health and safety discipline
• Knowledge of basic OSHA principles
