Job summary

GROB Group offers a Safety Engineer Intern role focused on assisting the Safety Professional to improve safety processes in a manufacturing environment. You will help train staff, inspect worksites, investigate incidents, assess PPE needs, and participate in safety meetings to foster a safer workplace.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an EHS-related degree and possess basic OSHA knowledge, with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Office tools.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a relevant degree program, preferably in environmental health and safety discipline.
• Knowledge of basic OSHA principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and health training for all employees
• Inspect worksites and recommend hazard reductions
• Complete incident investigations with documentation and preventive measures
• Conduct job safety and PPE assessments; recommend PPE purchases
• Participate in and/or lead safety meetings
• Assist with additional tasks as required

Job description

The Safety Engineer Intern is responsible for Assisting GROB’s Safety Professional to identify and improve safety processes within a manufacturing environment to provide the safest work environment possible for GROB employees.

Assist GROB’s Safety Professional with the following:

• Provide appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for all employees
• Assist management in the inspection of worksites to assure safe conditions for employees; prepare recommendations to management on ways to reduce and/or eliminate identified hazards
• Complete timely and thorough incident investigations with appropriate documentation and develop measures to prevent further occurrences
• Conduct job safety and PPE assessments; recommend PPE purchases as necessary
• Participate in and/or lead safety meetings
• Additional tasks as required

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Enrolled in a relevant degree program, preferably in environmental health and safety discipline
• Knowledge of basic OSHA principles

General Requirements:

• Must be self-motivated and able to problem solve complex situations while utilizing available resources
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
