Job summary

Monti is seeking a Safety Engineer to join its manufacturing team in Alabama. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and overseeing safety procedures to ensure a safe, compliant work environment.

You will identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and train employees to foster a proactive safety culture. Responsibilities include conducting audits, root-cause analyses, investigations into incidents, and driving corrective actions with leadership.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive EHS experience, preferably with automated equipment, stamping, machining, fabrication, or powder coating.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, PPE, hazardous materials, and environmental compliance.
• Ability to lead audits, investigations, risk assessments, corrective actions, training, and accountability efforts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures that align with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and root-cause analyses to identify risks and ensure corrective action is taken.
• Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents and work with leadership to implement corrective actions.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Safety Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The safety engineer will play a key role in developing, implementing, and overseeing safety procedures and programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. The position requires a proactive professional who is skilled in hazard identification, risk assessment, and employee training to maintain a culture of safety and reduce workplace incidents.

Key Qualifications

• Equipment and controls: Working knowledge of PLCs, machine controls, interlocks, guarding, light curtains, and emergency stops, with the ability to identify control-related hazards.
• Manufacturing safety: Five or more years of progressive EHS experience, preferably involving automated equipment, stamping, machining, fabrication, or powder coating.
• Technical compliance: Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, PPE, hazardous materials, and environmental compliance.
• Safety leadership: Ability to lead audits, investigations, risk assessments, corrective actions, training, and accountability efforts.
• Communication: Effective with employees, leadership, regulators, and auditors. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desirable.
