POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Coordinator I will assist the Division Safety Leader by ensuring all safety requirements are met in the field and facilities. This role involves managing and coordinating safety activities within the division's fabrication shop.

What you’ll do:

1. Tour and inspect job sites to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations. Report concerns and promote safety programs.
2. Document inspections, cite hazards, and recommend corrective actions within designated timeframes.
3. Maintain safety documentation, review hazard logs, and take necessary actions.
4. Provide emergency response as needed.
5. Investigate accidents and injuries, and report to regulatory agencies.
6. Develop and facilitate employee safety training.
7. Mentor less-experienced safety personnel.
8. Make independent safety decisions and consult with management on significant issues.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• 4+ years of safety experience in construction, including training.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, or Environmental Sciences, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred certifications: CHST or ASP, OSHA 500.
• Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10/30/40 hours.
• Knowledge of safety management systems and OSHA standards.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and OSHA information access.
• Willingness to travel over 50% of the time.
