POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Coordinator I will assist the Division Safety Leader by ensuring all safety requirements are met in the field and facilities, managing and coordinating safety activities within the division's fabrication shop.

What you’ll do:

1. Tour and inspect job sites to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, reporting concerns and promoting safety programs.
2. Document safety inspections, cite hazards, recommend and oversee corrective actions.
3. Maintain safety documentation, review hazard logs, and take appropriate actions.
4. Provide emergency response when needed.
5. Investigate accidents and injuries, prepare reports, and submit data to regulatory agencies.
6. Assist in developing and facilitating employee safety training.
7. Use experience to mentor less-experienced safety staff.
8. Exercise independent judgment on daily safety issues, consulting with management on significant decisions.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• At least 4+ years of safety experience in construction, including training.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, or Environmental Sciences or equivalent construction safety experience.
• Preferred certifications: CHST or ASP, OSHA 10/30/40, OSHA 500.
• CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards and safety management systems.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and computer skills.
• Willingness to travel over 50% of the time.
