Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical is seeking a full-time Safety Coordinator to oversee safety activities at construction sites in Suffolk, VA. You will conduct site inspections, coordinate safety meetings, and ensure compliance with client and company safety policies.

Responsibilities include on-site first aid readiness, training support, and assisting hazards recognition. Travel may be required; candidates should have at least 1 year of commercial electrical experience and OSHA-30

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum commercial electrical experience.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA-30 Certification required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED/Blood Bourne Pathogens certifications required.
• Background and MVR checks must be passed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation of all safety activities for IES and client.
• Conduct frequent jobsite inspections and ensure corrective actions.
• Plan safety for non-routine tasks with foremen.
• Attend jobsite safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Conduct site safety orientations.
• Assist in safety training and field equipment training.
• Support hazards recognition and corrective actions.
• Provide on-site first aid when needed.
• Comply with company and client safety policies.
• Travel may be required.

General Job Description

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, seeking full-time construction Safety Coordinator in Suffolk, VA.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.

Job Summary

• Ensures implementation of all IES and Client safety activities
• Conducts frequent jobsite inspections, ensures corrective action taken to correct deficiencies
• Works with foreman in planning how to perform non-routine job tasks safely
• Participates in jobsite safety meetings and periodic attendance at foreman toolbox safety meetings
• Conducts jobsite safety orientations
• Assists in safety training as necessary
• Conducts field training on all equipment for all employees
• Assists in Hazards Recognition and corrections
• Provides on-site first aid and CPR capabilities
• Complies with all company and client safety policies and procedures
• Travel may be required.

Specific Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year commercial electrical experience in a related position
• HS Diploma/GED
• OSHA-30 Certification
• First Aid/CPR/AED/Blood Bourne Pathogens Certifications
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check and MVR check
