Job summary

Century Contractors is seeking an experienced Safety Professional to oversee EH&S across designated job sites. You will drive regulatory compliance, implement procedures, and lead safety audits and training programs to minimize injury risks.

The role requires OSHA 30, MSHA certification preferred, and ability to coordinate permits, conduct hazard assessments, and manage incident investigations. Travel may be required, and the candidate must maintain high safety standards across operations.

• Preferred MSHA certification.
• OSHA 510 and 500 a plus.
• Must be able to climb and not be afraid of heights.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Significant travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage EH&S tasks related to rigging, mechanical and piping installations.
• Implement CCI & customer EH&S procedures/protocols.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks.
• Coordinate permits (hot work, JSA's, LOTO) with crew and customers.
• Perform and document daily audits/observations.
• Support project team with EH&S reporting and deliverables.
• Coordinate task-specific training with Project Manager and EH&S team.
• Identify and plan EH&S execution of hazardous work.
• Provide solutions to eliminate hazardous conditions.
• Report daily crew size for incident/evacuation readiness.
• Conduct safety training programs and maintain records.
• Lead site inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews (OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, DHS).
• Investigate accidents and near misses and train to prevent recurrence.
• Inventory and maintain PPE and safety equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Chiefly responsible for ensuring the highest possible level of operational safety and asset protection across designated job site, reducing and controlling CCI exposures to injury and accident risks and perils, while ensuring operational regulatory compliance with all appropriate state and federal regulations. Must possess at least OSHA 30 certification and MSHA certification.

Essential Functions/Duties

• Manage all EH&S task related to rigging, mechanical and piping installations disciplines.
• Implementation of CCI & customer EH&S procedures/protocols.
• Daily tool box talks.
• Manage and coordinate permits (hot work, JSA's, LOTO, etc) with crew and customer representatives.
• Perform and document daily audits/observations.
• Support project team with EH&S reporting and customer deliverables.
• Coordinate task specific training that may be required with CCI Project Manager, Crew and EH&S Management team.
• Identify, plan and coordinate the EH&S execution of hazardous work that exist within the work area.
• Identify hazardous conditions and provide solutions to project team to implement procedures, tools and/or equipment to execute task safely.
• Reporting of daily crew size and members to ensure all employees are accounted for in the event of incident/evacuation.
• Conducts Health and Safety Training Programs and maintains all records as needed.
• Directs and conducts site facility walk-through inspections, safety audits and documentation reviews relative to OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, DHS regulations and reports findings to Corporate Management.
• Investigates the causes of all accidents and injuries, and completes reports as required. Uses Accidents/near misses, etc. as training to help prevent future occurrences.
• Inventories and maintains appropriate quantities of all necessary safety equipment and PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Working Conditions/Physical Effort

Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces. Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools. Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in work boots, working in awkward body positions and able.
