Job summary

Champion Home Builders in Dresden, TN seeks a Safety Coordinator to lead the safety program at our manufactured homes plant, ensuring OSHA compliance, employee training, and accident prevention. Job description

Champion Home Builders in Dresden, TN is looking for a Safety Coordinator for our manufactured homes plant.


Job Title: Safety Coordinator


Reports To: Production Manager


FLSA Status: Non Exempt


Summary: Ensure compliance with Champion's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through supervisors. Responsible for deployment of the plant safety training program.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and the identification of and correct handling techniques for hazardous materials.

  • Inspects plant and office facilities to detect accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

  • Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.

  • Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.

  • Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.

  • Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and materials for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions.

  • Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.

  • Maintains safety files and records, both written and electronic.


Qualifications


  • Leadership experience in a safety or operations role is preferred

  • Experience in formal incident investigation and OSHA regulations

  • Exceptional communication skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate information to the team

  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills

  • Proficient skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Great organizational skills

  • Excellent team player attitude

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily activities


Education And/or Experience

Two to four years related experience and/or training related to safe operation in a manufacturing environment.
