Job summary

E2 Optics in Columbus, OH is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support execution, compliance, and enhancement of internal and external safety programs at customer sites and project venues.

You will drive a behavior-based safety culture, conduct trainings, assist in investigations, and help implement countermeasures while complying with OSHA regulations. This role requires flexibility with shifts and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 2-3 years Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a construction environment.
  • OSHA 30 credential required.
  • Ability to positively influence and encourage others.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work days, nights and weekends as project requires.
  • Self-motivated and excellent work ethics.
  • Effectiveness working in various work environments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive behavior-based safety culture to achieve accident-prevention and loss mitigation at E2 Optics customer locations.
  • Provide safety and health training, instruction and coaching to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Assist Safety Manager with incident investigations, documentation, problem solving and countermeasure implementation.
  • Conduct or participate in Safety audits to review practices and records for compliance with H&S programs and OSHA regulations.
  • Track, trend and drive structured problem solving for recurring safety issues.

What You'll Do

This position is responsible for supporting execution, compliance, and enhancement of internal and externalsafety programs. Drive behavior-based safety culture to achieve accident-prevention and loss mitigation atE2 Optics customer locations.

  • Provides safety and health training, instruction and coaching to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Assists the Safety Manager with incident/accident investigations, subsequent documentation, problem solving and implementation of countermeasure(s).
  • Conducts and/or participates in Safety audits to review practices and records to ensure compliance with relevant H&S programs and OSHA regulations.
  • Track, trend and drive structured problem solving for recurring safety issues that prohibit realization of performance targets
  • This position is generally expected to require minimal overnight travel (5%). The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics.
What We Are Looking For
  • High school diploma required, Associate’s Degree is preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role requires sitting, use of hands and arms, verbal communication, and occasional physical movement such as stooping or kneeling. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight and confined spaces. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
