Job summary

SAC, Incorporated is seeking a hands-on Safety Coordinator to support fabrication operations at both our Clearfield and West Ogden facilities in Utah. You will work directly with employees, supervisors, contractors, and leadership to strengthen SAC’s safety culture, identify hazards, and ensure work is performed safely.

A key near-term responsibility will be supporting the safe, phased relocation of employees, production equipment, materials, and operations from Clearfield to West Ogden.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial operations.
• Working knowledge of OSHA general-industry requirements.
• Experience conducting inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
• Comfortable around welding, fabrication equipment, forklifts, cranes, and material-handling operations.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to stop unsafe work when necessary.
• Ability to regularly work at both the Clearfield and West Ogden facilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible safety presence at both Clearfield and West Ogden.
• Conduct routine shop, yard, warehouse, and facility safety inspections and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices, PPE, hazard recognition, and stop-work expectations.
• Support safety training, toolbox talks, new-hire orientation, incident investigations, and near-miss reporting.
• Support compliance with applicable OSHA requirements and SAC safety programs.
• Participate in planning and executing the phased Clearfield-to-West Ogden relocation.
• Coordinate safety requirements with movers, riggers, contractors, electricians, equipment vendors, and SAC personnel.
• Monitor higher-risk activities including rigging, hoisting, equipment moves, forklifts, material handling, machinery installation, and commissioning.
• Help establish safe pedestrian, vehicle, forklift, and material-flow patterns at West Ogden.
• Conduct safety readiness reviews before relocated operations begin production.
• Identify hazards created by temporary or changing conditions during the move and ensure they are corrected promptly.

This role will work directly with employees, supervisors, contractors, and leadership to strengthen SAC’s safety culture, identify and eliminate hazards, and ensure work is performed safely.

A key near-term responsibility will be supporting the safe, phased relocation of employees, production equipment, materials, and operations from Clearfield to West Ogden. SAC’s move includes stainless steel, carbon steel, structural, and office operations.

Preferred Experience

• Metal fabrication, welding, piping, structural steel, or heavy manufacturing.
• Facility moves, equipment relocation, rigging, or manufacturing expansions.
• Crane, hoist, forklift, and material-handling safety.
• OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, ASP, CSP, CHST, or similar safety credentials.
